WELCOME!
The Sublette County Ski and Snowboard Association (SCSSA) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. The Club’s
goal is to make available, to Sublette County’s youth, affordable instruction in the fundamentals of the lifetime sports
of skiing and snowboarding. Each season, the Club has approximately 80 youth participants from throughout Sublette County.
We have a Board of Directors, an advisory board, and both paid and volunteer coaches.
While many of our skiers race for high school teams, the SCSSA
is not a school-sponsored activity, but a community organization. The organization is currently in its ninth year.
We offer several different programs: Home
Ski Team, Race Ski Team, and Home Snowboard Team. All three teams practice and race at White Pine Ski Resort, but the
Race Team’s schedule does include some optional travel for practices and races. For the 2008/09 season, there
will be approximately 10 practices at White Pine Ski Resort with the Home Teams participating in 2 races and the Race Team
participating in 9 races.
Sign-up for the 2008/09 season begins on Friday, October 10th at Oktoberfest at Wise Connections in Pinedale (4:00
pm to 7:00 pm) and continues into the season. All skiers and snowboarders should be registered by December 1st. Tuition for
the program directly benefits the racers and covers costs such as coaches, awards, snacks, and club equipment. Discounts are
given for siblings and a variety of scholarships are available. For scholarship information, please contact Dari Quirk: 307-231-5978.
We are always in need of volunteer ski
and snowboard coaches – please contact us if you would like to be a volunteer coach for the upcoming season. We run
weekly clinics for our coaches, and volunteer coaches receive complimentary lift tickets. For coaching information, please
contact Ward Wise: 307-231-9419.
In the Forms section below, please find our calendar of events, registration and waiver forms, and additional information
about the Home Ski Team, the Race Ski Team, and the Home Snowboard Team. Please note that participants must be able to ride
the chairlift and ski or snowboard down the Little Spirit Lift at White Pine by themselves. For questions regarding registration,
please contact Cassy Johnston: 307-231-1176.
We hope that you will join us for the upcoming season!
